What they didn’t know that they didn’t know. How knowing what they didn’t know can help shape they way that they look at future business.

What do you believe is the greatest innovation to affect the events industry in the past year?
There is no single great innovation…what there is is a myriad of great innovations that continues to have greater, deeper impact on how we function daily as event professionals. (And they are getting cheaper and more accessible).

Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere, everyday, all around. I keep my eyes open and I notice things…and when I do that I see things that inspire me and motivate me to think differently and reach further.

What excites you most about the year ahead in the events industry or your personal business?
I am most excited about the mistakes I have made in the past (and there are many), and how they have become a catalyst for change in my future.

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Surround yourself with people that are smarter and more talented than you are.

Known for his experience and passion, David has become a creative force in the event industry. David is a nationally recognized speaker in the areas of creativity and experience.

His role as the visionary of GO West Events & Multimedia has contributed to his success as Event Solutions’ 2006 Spotlight Award winner for Event Producer of the Year as well as a multitude of other prestigious awards. In 2008, David and Creative Director Jayme LaForest formed a new venture, Fourway Mirror Film & Television. They have since completed two full-length features and have several television productions under development.
