Linda Sample is President of A Thyme to Cook, a full service catering and event design company in Southeastern Connecticut, founded in 1984. The business began as a specialty food shop and cooking school, a part time enterprise which competed with Linda’s first career as a pulmonary clinical nurse specialist and teacher in the graduate program in nursing at Yale University.

Despite protestations that she would never cater, Linda’s passion for food prevailed. A Thyme to Cook is now the premier catering company in the area and is well known for thinking outside the box. With no culinary training, but vast travel and tasting experience, she has surrounded herself with staff who contribute a wide variety of talent and expertise, and whose commitment to excellence has helped. Her genuine philosophy of caretaking towards clients and attention to detail permeates throughout the business and these have been a major impetus in its growth.
