PURNELL, Chef de Cuisine at GOOD GRACIOUS! is a native of England. Right at an early age her interests were always with cooking and at every opportunity you would find her in the kitchen or being the host at family gatherings – entertaining was in the blood! In 1994 JOANNE graduated from the California Culinary Institute in San Francisco where she fulfilled her culinary education. She traveled to England and France to gain even more experience returning to America a year later. It was at this time she began her career with GOOD GRACIOUS!

Ten years later, after working her way up to Chef de Cuisine, JOANNE has gained a lot of success with her creative approach of food presentation and continually strives to stay ahead of the curve. She does this by staying active in the culinary industry. JOANNE currently holds the position of President for the ICA Culinary Council and is the education co-chair of the 2010 CaterArts conference.

Her additional contributions include lecturing at catering conferences, contributing a chapter to the book “Inside the Catering Chef’s Recipe Box: The International Caterers Cookbook,” producing her company’s new catering and entertaining book “Food, Fun, Love: Party Styles by Pauline Parry” all while juggling her daily chef duties as one of LA’s top caterers. By keeping her mind open to all aspects of cooking and preparation, JOANNE has demonstrated her expertise to the industry and profession that has resulted in her being awarded ICA’s 2008 Chef of the Year.
