Rather than follow the path of the MBA into the corporate world, Carr Hagerman took his talent to the streets—literally. Over 30 years ago he began his career as a professional street performer when he created a gritty, smart, irreverent and irresistible character called “The Rat Catcher” for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

Working entirely without a script, traditional stage or props, Carr drew huge crowds by working with the audience to create broadly humorous, provocative, and entertaining shows. During those years, Carr began to make a connection between his work as a street performer and the application of those traits in the corporate world.

For 15 years, Carr has been an author, film producer, writer and leadership consultant, translating his streetwise performance wisdom into insightful and uncanny live performances that energize audiences and leave them filled with instantly usable ideas.

He was instrumental in the success of the wildly popular Fish! videos, touring globally and speaking on the language of engagement by the Fish Mongers at Pike Market in Seattle.

On stage, in Top Performer, the book he co-authored with Stephen Lundin, and in his breakthrough DVD, “Top Performer: A Bold Approach to Service,” Carr presents a lively and accessible new paradigm for sales, service and engagement based on lessons from the street and the corporate stage.

With an uncanny eye on “what’s next” in business, Carr’s presentations focus on building thriving environments rich in collaboration, service and the power of a simple human connection.

Carr has presented to audiences worldwide, including: Apple Computer, Chevron, Best Buy, Proctor and Gamble, American Express, Wells Fargo, the US Post Office, Time Warner, Royal Bank of Scotland, Starbucks, Purina, Hilton Hotels, World at Work and many more.
