Session #151
Nico Cervantes
President
Nico Designs, Santa Barbara, CA
Armed with a glue gun, some knick-knacks, flowers and jewels, designer/producer Nico Cervantes will offer a hands-on session that will show attendees how to approach a number of design trends and how-to's. In this seminar, Nico will talk about how to choose a color pallete for an event, fun and unique floral trends and design tips, and 'non-living' centerpieces and how to bring them to life. He will also cover linens and how fabric and color can set and change the mood of any event, lighting as the secret décor weapon, and using paper to make your own place cards, menus and table numbers.
The session will conclude with participants breaking into groups and designing a table top for a specific type of event with color scheme, corresponding linens and napkins, chairs, centerpiece and lighting treatment. The groups will use props, paper, flowers, linens and rental items provided for the activity.
